In a dark night, when the light burning was the burning of love
She sat on the edge of the earth ready to die
Hands buried to her knees as she broke off into silent cries
She can feel the pain
and also the sorrow.
She doesn't want to go on.
So she prays for a better tomorrow.
It's hard for her to cope.
She'd like to runaway.
In her heart she knows
that she cannot stay.
You can see the sadness
deep within her eyes.
She would like to stop the madness
but instead she just cries.
She prays for strength to move along.
To go on another day
She pleads for the courage to be strong
so she can just simply walk away.
In that dark night, secrete, seen by no one and seeing nothing,
her only light or guide was the burning in her burning heart.

"Essence of a Star"
Clear, cold crisp night, the air biting you
The brightness of the stars
Shooting across the sky
Moving on, to I wonder where
Hmm maybe another universe,
Where the light flairs
Where their souls can become alive
And rink in the essence of life
Where they outshine the darkness of the day
Their iridescent glow, wings folded back
Diamonds in the eyes,
Pearls cascading, not at all fading
Into hair that shimmers at the touch
Of any moonlight,
Halo of the night
Skin as smooth as silk
Eyelashes like ice
Hoping to find the way tonight
Back through to where
That other universe lies
While still I contemplate
Fact from fiction,
Truth from lies,
Fairy tale wonders,
In the sky
The brightness of the stars
Shooting across the sky
Moving on, to I wonder where
Hmm maybe another universe,
Where the light flairs
Where their souls can become alive
And rink in the essence of life
Where they outshine the darkness of the day
Their iridescent glow, wings folded back
Diamonds in the eyes,
Pearls cascading, not at all fading
Into hair that shimmers at the touch
Of any moonlight,
Halo of the night
Skin as smooth as silk
Eyelashes like ice
Hoping to find the way tonight
Back through to where
That other universe lies
While still I contemplate
Fact from fiction,
Truth from lies,
Fairy tale wonders,
In the sky
